Every single thing in this blog is good news
It’s been a month without a blog but a busy month indeed. I took a welcome two weeks off in March, my longest break in a while, for a trip with my son Ezra to Ireland, Scotland and England! Highlights included our first Guinness in Ireland, the Houth cliff walk, Edinburgh castle, a spectacular coastal train ride from Edinburgh to London, the hip-hop/Shakespeare-inflected play Deep Azure by the late Chadwick Boseman at the candlelit Blackfriar Theater, our first Arsenal game (a nailbiting 2-0 win over Everton at the Emirates), and seeing Arsenal starlet Max Dowman, 16, become the youngest goal scorer in the history of the Premier League!
Along the way I got to meet in person two of my favorite indie comic creators, guys I have known online for years but didn’t expect I’d meet in real life. In Edinburgh we had dinner with David Taylor, creator/writer/artist of Wild Nature and other crackling noir thrillers. Then in London we shared a pint with Peter Taylor, writer and artist of Pioneers: Blood and Stars, a space vampire epic with heart. Failed to get a pic of me and David, but here is me and Peter in Covent Garden. Follow these unrelated but fantastic Taylors on Substack!

And don’t worry, Ethel and Virginia got to have fun too. The kids’ school breaks didn’t coincide so we had his and her vacations, with the girls living it up in Paris for a week!

Project Image: Complete!

Meanwhile, we have color! Last blog I revealed the line art of our new project image for the next Kickstarter Launch, planned for September 1. Thaissa Diaz has added her colors to the image and it is a banger!

Now would be the perfect time to click this link and follow our prelaunch—reminder, when we hit 100 followers (currently so close at 85), those lovely people will receive an exclusive 7-page preview of By the Time I Get to Dallas #5! Click that link to get us there and get yours!
But what will you Kickstart?
Finished comic books, obviously! The teams have completed By the Time I Get to Dallas #5, AND Trinity Project #5, minus one cover, some inside covers and back matter stuff. Thats right, two books in the can!!
Meanwhile, Dallas #6 is laid out and half drawn, it’s grown a bit to 40 thrilling, satisfying, epic-concluding pages. Trinity Project #6 is over the half-drawn point as well. Here’s my project check list, viewed from Artemis II. We need the check marks to spread from top left to bottom right, like black mold in the basement of my mind:

Cape Cod Con, April 26, Hyannis
When I found out there is a one day comic con on Cape Cod, obviously I had to sign up. Looking forward to unloading a few books with hard core comics fans in Hyannis! It’s free, if you’re in the area come say hi!

And also, in case you weren’t aware…
I Am Very Famous

I’m sure by now you’ve already gotten your copy of Practice Link Magazine, the freebie glossy mag sent to doctors offering career advice and job connections. Clearly they are running out of good ideas and are left with a feature about me losing time and money making comic books. Not sure it will help other doctors get ahead, but I did get a free photo shoot out of it! Thanks you David Butler of Butler Photography,
Back to Baseline

Back at Emmets downtown, working on pages with my friend Guinness. There is no better way to be.
Back soon with more progress and whatever else I can come up with.
Thank you as always for your support!
